The demand for marigold flowers is high during Diwali, due to which farmers get a chance to earn good income.

    Farmers of the area have planted marigold flowers in many parts of their fields, which are blooming these days and are coming for sale. Farmers also make garlands of these flowers and sell them by setting up shops in the city, the price of which ranges from Rs 40 to Rs 70 on Diwali. On other days this garland is sold for only Rs 30 to 40.

    Flowers are sold for up to Rs 100 per kg on Diwali

    Farmer Manish Kumar told that he had started cultivating flowers in the Kharif season. These plants were looked after in the field every day. Flowers have started blooming, which are being plucked and sold to traders, resulting in good income. On the occasion of Diwali, we will set up a shop and sell flowers because these flowers generate good income during Diwali. There are many flower garland shops at the bus stand, where flower garlands are sold between Rs 40 and Rs 70.

    Farmers said that if there are more flowers, they get a lower price and if there are less flowers, they get a good price. Flowers are sold for up to Rs 100 per kg on Diwali festival. On normal days the prices of these flowers remain low. Flowers provide good income on Diwali, hence flowers are planted in some parts of the field.

    A farmer from Padana, who has been cultivating flowers for the last eight years, said that he had planted about five thousand flower plants during the rainy season. After hard work, the entire plants were submerged due to the rains in the months of September-October. Due to this only 40 percent plants were left. Had to face huge losses in this. The family has taken care of the remaining plants with hard work. The flower plants have improved by spraying fertilizer, water as well as medicine and will now spread the fragrance of happiness in the family with good production on the occasion of Diwali.
