Novak Djokovic’s Australian Open campaign hit a historic high Saturday, as he tallied his 400th Grand Slam main draw win—the first man ever to do so. Dispatching Tallon Griekspoor 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4), the legend also leveled Roger Federer’s 102 Melbourne victories, advancing to round four.

Over 2 hours 44 minutes, the duel swung wildly. Djokovic’s first-set efficiency—12 winners, minimal errors—set the tone. Griekspoor fought back fiercely, nursing a shoulder issue and breaking early in set two. The Serb’s adaptability shone, though a third-set tumble necessitated treatment.

Down serve at 5-6, Djokovic repelled two set points before triumphing in the breaker. His 18th fourth-round berth here underscores unmatched longevity. Speaking on his physical state, he said, ‘Great beginning, no over-excitement though. Past Slams taught restraint. Still competing hard with the youngsters—I’m durable.’

Set-perfect so far, Djokovic awaits Mensik or Quinn. A potential Sinner semifinal looms. ‘Carlos and Jannik lead the pack,’ he conceded, ‘but this court rewards me endlessly—chances arise on every ball.’

This feat amplifies Djokovic’s Melbourne supremacy, where 10 titles await an 11th. At 36, his pursuit of 25 majors burns brighter amid rising competition.
