Delhi Police’s Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has officially notified Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in connection with the ongoing National Herald case. The notice, issued on November 29, instructs Shivakumar to provide specific information or appear before the investigating team by December 19.

The probe is reportedly focused on gathering comprehensive details about Shivakumar’s personal background and his financial dealings linked to the Congress party. This action is understood to be an extension of the investigation into an FIR filed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi concerning the National Herald. Investigators are probing potential connections and the flow of funds to the company Young Indian, and believe Shivakumar may hold relevant information.

Shivakumar has been an outspoken critic of the investigations, characterizing them as politically motivated harassment targeting Rahul Gandhi. He has consistently argued that the National Herald is an institutional asset of the Congress party, managed by its leadership, rather than private property. He has called for an end to such tactics and a return to fair political competition. Shivakumar also recently addressed speculation about dissent within the Karnataka Congress, asserting the party’s strong unity in the state.
