    Fatehpur News: A unique case has come to light in Fatehpur district, where an inebriated groom reached Khwajipur Semraiya village with the wedding procession. Seeing this the bride refused to marry. After this there was panic among the family members. The matter was resolved by compromise between the groom’s side and the bride’s side.

    People from the groom’s side and the bride’s side kept waiting for the groom’s intoxication to subside till morning. The groom remained drunk till morning. After the bride refused to marry, the groom’s side and the bride’s side settled the matter by making a mutual compromise. Pooja Devi, younger daughter of Chunnilal son of Kallu Lodhi, resident of Khwajipur Semraiya, was to be married to Kamal Lodhi, the only son of Shera Singh, resident of Darauli. On the basis of fixed date, on Thursday, Shera Singh had reached Khawajipur Semraiya village with the wedding procession of his son Kamal Lodhi.

    The wedding rituals were being performed with great pomp. The groom accompanied by the wedding procession reached the girl’s house in an inebriated state. Seeing the groom in an intoxicated state, the bride refused to marry him. The debate continued till morning. Police station chief Ranjit Bahadur Singh said that both the parties have settled the matter by mutual agreement.
