The traditional monsoon period, spanning from June to September, has concluded. Despite the formal end to the monsoon season, many regions are still likely to experience a variety of weather conditions. The weather forecasts predict light to moderate rainfall in numerous states, accompanied by potential heavy showers and powerful winds. Dussehra celebrations in several states could be affected by these predicted weather patterns.

Significant rainfall was observed in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday. The weather forecast indicates that similar unfavorable conditions are expected today, with mainly overcast skies and potential light rain or drizzle. These weather patterns are expected to continue on October 2, which is Dussehra, with partially cloudy skies anticipated on October 3 and 4.

Uttar Pradesh has experienced a noticeable change in its weather pattern since Tuesday. The weather department predicts that the state will experience rain between October 1 and October 5, suggesting that Dussehra celebrations in UP may be accompanied by rainfall. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in the eastern and western regions today, and light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in several districts.

Bihar is also predicted to experience rain on Dussehra. Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the state from October 2 to 7. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds may also occur in most areas during this period. Light rainfall is possible today in Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Arwal. Heavy rainfall may occur in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, and Katihar.

Maharashtra, which has been significantly affected by the southwest monsoon, does not anticipate immediate relief. Further rainfall is anticipated today. However, there is expected to be a considerable decrease in rainfall in areas other than certain parts of Konkan between October 1 and 3. Mumbai, Thane, and the surrounding suburbs are expected to experience cloudy skies and light showers.

A heavy rain alert has been issued for 16 districts in Rajasthan. The weather department indicates that this rainy period may continue until October 3. The weather department also predicts heavy rain on Dussehra, October 2, with a yellow alert issued for 22 districts.

Uttarakhand is also expecting a return of rain, with the likelihood of heavy rainfall between October 1 and 2. The weather department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in certain areas on October 3 and 4.

After the complete withdrawal of the monsoon from Himachal Pradesh on September 26, the weather has been clear and pleasant. Dry weather is expected from October 1 to 3. This indicates that there is no chance of rain on Dussehra. However, the weather will be adverse from October 4 to 6 due to the impact of a Western Disturbance, with a yellow alert issued for rainfall during this period.

Other regions that are expecting rain include Kutch and Saurashtra in Gujarat, where heavy rainfall is likely. Heavy downpours may also occur in West Bengal, Sikkim, the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh from October 2 to 5. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana on October 1, 2, 3, and 4.
