A sense of unease has settled over Chakulia in East Singhbhum following the discovery of a young man’s lifeless body near a cow shelter early Sunday. Sunil Kumar Mahto, from Purana Bazar, was found dead by the Dhyan Foundation’s gaushala, situated close to the airstrip. Police have launched a homicide investigation.
Dr. Shalini Mishra, associated with the Dhyan Foundation, stumbled upon the body during her morning walk and promptly informed the Chakulia police. Responding to the alert, Inspector Manoj Kumar Gupta and Station Officer Santosh Kumar, along with police personnel, arrived at the location, secured the area, and initiated a detailed inquiry.
Evidence recovered from the site, including discarded drinking items and food, suggests that alcohol may have been consumed shortly before the incident. The victim, Sunil Kumar Mahto, exhibited significant head injuries, pointing towards a violent attack. The police are meticulously searching the surrounding areas and exploring all potential motives for the murder, aiming to bring the perpetrators to justice.
