A significant theft operation unfolded in the Ulidih police station area of East Singhbhum late Tuesday night, as criminals managed to break into three separate homes, making off with valuable assets including cash and a substantial collection of gold and silver jewelry. The incidents have raised serious concerns about security in the region, especially given the proximity of some of the targeted residences to the police station.

The first victims, the family of Bajanti Devi on Shankosai Road Number 2, returned from a family event to discover their home had been broken into. Upon their arrival around 2 AM, they found the main gate’s lock forced open. An inventory revealed that Rs 70,000 in cash and jewelry valued at approximately Rs 20 lakh had vanished from their almirah.

In an adjacent property, the upstairs residence of Oranganath was also targeted on the same night. Thieves relieved him of Rs 20,000 in cash and jewelry worth about Rs 12 lakh. The combined value of cash and ornaments stolen from these two locations exceeds Rs 33 lakh.

Further adding to the distress, Pawan Kumar’s home, situated just a stone’s throw (200 meters) from the police station, was also subjected to a burglary while he was away at a family function in Adityapur. He returned late to find his home unsecured and approximately Rs 20 lakh worth of jewelry missing.

Ulidih police are actively investigating all three incidents. Teams have visited the sites, collected evidence, and are currently processing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the culprits. The recent surge in burglaries has left residents feeling vulnerable and demanding swift action from law enforcement.
