5G spectrum: Trai to take name on non-public networks
The situation of allocation of spectrum — by auctions or administratively — for establishing non-public networks might be determined by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) when it submits its suggestions on the reserve value for 5G spectrum auctions. The suggestions are anticipated by March.
Since 5G would herald the period of personal networks, the Trai has requested the telecom operators and different stakeholders whether or not the licensing framework must be modified when bandwidth is used for functions aside from offering direct providers to shoppers.
“They can be used by industries to automate manufacturing lines, to reduce security risks, to protect employees from dangerous environments, monitoring and control of assets etc,” the regulator has mentioned. FE
