The authorities on Friday slapped a Rs 6 per litre tax on exports of petrol and ATF and Rs 13 per litre on exports of diesel.
The authorities additionally slapped a Rs 23,230 per tonne further tax on domestically produced crude oil to remove windfall features accruing to producers from excessive worldwide oil costs, a separate authorities notification confirmed.
The tax on exports follows oil refiners, notably the personal sector, reaping large features from exporting gasoline to markets comparable to Europe and the US.
