India rejects Chinese BYD Motors’ proposal to arrange a plant over safety issues

The Central authorities has rejected BYD Motors and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL)’s proposal to determine a $1 billion four-wheeler manufacturing facility in India.
The proposal, which was submitted to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), included plans for an electrical car manufacturing unit in Hyderabad. The DPIIT solicited suggestions from many departments to be able to consider the funding proposal. Concerns about safety dangers regarding Chinese investments in India have been highlighted in the course of the discussions.
