Over 300 home objects to get concessional mkt entry in Mauritius

More than 300 home items from agriculture, textiles, electronics and different sectors will get market entry at concessional customs duties in Mauritius, with the federal government on Wednesday approving signing of a free commerce settlement between the 2 nations.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has authorised signing of the Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement (CECPA) between India and Mauritius, an official assertion mentioned.
It mentioned that Mauritius will profit from preferential market entry into India for its 615 merchandise, together with frozen fish, speciality sugar, biscuits, recent fruits, juices, mineral water, beer, alcoholic drinks, soaps, baggage, medical and surgical tools, and attire.
“The CECPA between India and Mauritius covers 310 export items for India, including food stuff and beverages (80 lines), agricultural products (25 lines), textile and textile articles (27 lines), base metals and articles thereof (32 lines), electricals and electronic item (13 lines), plastics and chemicals (20 lines), wood and articles thereof (15 lines), and others,” the assertion mentioned.
In a free commerce settlement, two buying and selling companions lower or remove customs duties on a number of merchandise apart from liberalising norms to advertise providers commerce.
