Sensex drops 291 factors, Nifty ends under 15,100-mark
Equity benchmark Sensex tumbled 291 factors on Wednesday, weighed by losses in index majors HDFC twins, ICICI Bank and Kotak Bank amid a detrimental pattern in world markets.
Profit reserving at greater ranges to led to the decline in benchmark indices, analysts stated.
Giving up the 50,000 mark, the 30-share BSE index ended 290.69 factors or 0.58 per cent decrease at 49,902.64. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty fell 77.95 factors or 0.52 per cent to fifteen,030.15.
Bajaj Finserv was the highest loser within the Sensex pack, shedding round 2 per cent, adopted by HDFC, M&M, Bharti Airtel, ExtremelyTech Cement and Kotak Bank.
On the opposite hand, Sun Pharma, Nestle India, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Auto and Axis Bank had been among the many gainers.
Binod Modi, Head Strategy at Reliance Securities, stated home equities corrected after recording sharp upswing within the final two days.
Notably, profit-booking was seen in most counters. Barring pharma, realty and IT, most of key sectoral indices traded in purple, he added.
Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Shanghai and Tokyo ended on a detrimental be aware.
Equities in Europe had been buying and selling with losses in mid-session offers.
Meanwhile, worldwide oil benchmark Brent crude was buying and selling 1.96 per cent decrease at USD 67.36 per barrel.
