SpiceJet on Wednesday stated it could function 21 new home and worldwide flights from January 12. The airline will introduce two weekly flights on the route from Mumbai to Ras Al-Khaimah within the UAE and enhance frequency on the Delhi-Ras Al-Khaimah path to 4 weekly flights, in keeping with a press release.

It will join Jharsuguda in Odisha with Mumbai and Bengaluru with new flights, and function greater B737 plane on the Delhi-Jharsuguda route as an alternative of the Q400 plane, “thereby offering additional capacity”, the discharge stated.

In its bid to reinforce connectivity between the metros and key non-metro cities, the airline has additionally launched new day by day continuous flights connecting Hyderabad with Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Vijayawada.

Scheduled home passenger flights resumed in India from May 25 after a two month hole because of the COVID-19 lockdown. Currently, the Indian carriers are permitted to function 80 per cent of their pre-COVID flights. 

As per nation’s aviation regulator DGCA a complete of 63.54 lakh home passengers travelled by air in November. While IndiGo carried 34.23 lakh passengers in November, a 53.9 per cent share of the full home market, SpiceJet flew 8.4 lakh passengers, which is 13.2 per cent share of the market, in keeping with knowledge shared by the DGCA.
