Ranchi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has got another big success in Jharkhand. On Monday, the ED raided nine places in the state, in which cash worth more than 30 crore rupees was recovered. Cash worth 30 crore rupees was recovered from the house of Jahangir, the servant of Sanjeev Lal, the personal secretary of the senior Congress leader of the state and the state’s Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. Apart from this, the ED also raided the house of Sanjeev Lal’s close contractor Munna Singh, Road Construction Department engineer Vikas Kumar and Kuldeep Minj. Apart from this, raids were conducted at three more places.

30 crores were found in cash at the house of Jahangir, the servant of the minister’s personal secretary Sanjeev, and more than three crores in cash at the house of his close aide Munna. When the ED team recovered a mountain of notes, six note counting machines and a cash van were called. Despite this, the counting of notes continued till late evening. Exactly two years ago, on May 6, 2022, the ED raided the house of Jharkhand IAS officer Pooja Singhal and recovered cash worth about Rs 20 crore. After this, more than three hundred crore rupees in cash was recovered in a raid at the house of liquor businessman Dheeraj Sahu.

However, after the ED action, Minister Alamgir Alam said that Sanjeev Lal is a government employee and has been the personal secretary of two ministers earlier. He was appointed on the basis of experience. He said that ED is taking its action, we will see what happens after that. It is worth mentioning that Sanjeev Lal has also been the personal secretary of BJP leader and state government minister CP Singh. CP Singh said that Sanjeev was his personal secretary but no complaint was received against him then.

However, on 22 February 2023, ED raided 24 locations of Rural Development Department Chief Engineer Virendra Ram. Apart from Virendra Ram’s companies, assets worth Rs 100 crore were discovered. Jewelleries worth Rs 1.5 crore and cash worth about Rs 30 lakh were found. ED raided in a bribery case registered against Virendra Ram.

    Modi targeted Congress

After the seizure of more than Rs 30 crore in cash in the ED action in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress. Addressing a public meeting in Nabarangpur, Odisha, Prime Minister Modi said – Today, mountains of notes are being found in the neighboring state of Jharkhand. People are saying that Modi is catching stolen goods there. Now you tell me, if I stop their theft, stop their earnings, stop their looting, will they abuse Modi or not? But should I do this work or not? Should I save your rightful money or not?
