    Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren inspected the progress of the Masalia – Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project being constructed on the Sidheshwari River at Murguni in Raneswar block of Dumka district. The Chief Minister instructed to complete the remaining works of this mega lift irrigation project as soon as possible. The Chief Minister said – the Masalia – Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project will prove to be multipurpose, the water of Sidheshwari river will be fully utilized. With the aim of reaching water to every field, irrigation facilities are being expanded. With the resolve of ensuring water reaches every field, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren is continuously working towards expanding irrigation facilities across the state. In this series, among the many important projects of modern technology-based mega lift irrigation projects that have been laid, one is the Masalia – Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project. Today, the Chief Minister inspected the Masalia – Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project being constructed on the Sidheshwari River at Murguni in Raneswar block of Dumka district and took complete information about the work progress. MLA Shri Alok Kumar Soren, Chief Secretary Shri Avinash Kumar and Secretary Shri Prashant Kumar were also present during the Chief Minister’s inspection. Project to be completed within the stipulated time limit During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that this mega lift irrigation project is very important for Dumka. Irrigation facilities will be provided to more than 22 thousand hectares of land in Masalia and Raneswar blocks of this district. In such a situation, complete the remaining works of this mega lift irrigation project soon so that it can be dedicated to the farmers. Full utilization of water The Chief Minister also said that the plan for the Masalia-Raneswar mega irrigation project is being implemented in such a way that it proves to be multipurpose. This will not only provide irrigation facilities in a large area but also divert excess water from the river to ponds and reservoirs. Its operationalization will also boost tourism here, creating new employment opportunities. In such a situation, the intention with which the state government has made this plan to fully utilize the water of the Sidheshwari river through this mega lift irrigation project should be realized in reality. Construction company said – about 80 percent of the work is complete Officials of L&T Company, which is constructing the Masalia – Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project, informed the Chief Minister that about 80 percent of the work on this project is complete. A barrage is being built under this, which is almost ready. While more than 90 percent of the work on a total of 15 gates is also complete. At the same time, one of the three pump houses is complete and the work on two is in progress. Along with this, five delivery chambers are being built, of which three are complete while two chambers will also be completed very soon. They informed the Chief Minister that irrigation facility through underground pipelines will be started on about 6400 hectares of land by January next year. Water will reach for irrigation in 22,283 hectares of land The Masalia – Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project is a very ambitious project of the state government. Through this mega lift irrigation project being built on the Sidheshwari River, irrigation facility will be provided through underground pipelines in 22,283 hectares of land in 226 villages coming under 15 panchayats of Masalia block and four panchayats of Raneswar block. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren had laid the foundation stone of the Masalia-Raneswar Mega Lift Irrigation Project, costing Rs 1313 crore, in November 2022.
