Raipur, 13 December 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has stated that the development of the Bastar region is among the highest priorities of the state government. Along with the elimination of Naxalism, rapid development of basic facilities is being carried out in Bastar, and Bastar is now advancing in the direction of development with strong momentum. Chief Minister Sai was addressing the closing ceremony of Bastar Olympiad 2025 held in Jagdalpur today.
Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is a prosperous state; however, the Maoist problem has been a major obstacle in the state’s development from the very beginning. He said that because of the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the firm resolve of Home Minister Amit Shah, a clear time frame for the end of Maoism has now been set. The scope of the Niyad Nella Nar scheme has been extended from 5 kilometers to 10 kilometers, through which basic facilities such as electricity, drinking water, health, and education have rapidly reached 403 villages.
Chief Minister Sai further said that schools that had closed due to Maoism are now reopening. A comprehensive road network is being developed to connect interior areas with transport facilities. In villages free from Maoism, public welfare schemes are being fully saturated. As a result of all these positive efforts, the public’s confidence in development continues to grow. Chief Minister Sai encouraged all participants of Bastar Olympiad and congratulated them, sending best wishes for better performance in the upcoming year.
At this occasion, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr Raman Singh said that Bastar is creating a new history in the country. He expressed confidence that by 31 March 2026, Naxalism will be fully eliminated and Bastar will become happy again. The programme was also addressed by Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Arun Saw and Shri Vijay Sharma, who congratulated the players for the successful conduct of Bastar Olympiad. MLA Jagdalpur Shri Kirann Dev gave a warm welcome to all guests and players in his welcome address. At the end of the ceremony, MP Shri Mahesh Kashyap expressed his gratitude.
