    The first T20I match between England and South Africa was cut short due to rain. After the delay, the match was limited to 12.5 overs. South Africa’s batsmen dominated, with four players scoring at a rate of over 200. Batting first, South Africa scored 97 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 7.5 overs. Aiden Markram led the charge with 28 runs off 14 balls, including 2 fours and 2 sixes. Devon Ferreira was not out at 25 off 11 balls, including 3 sixes. Dewald Brevis scored 23 runs off 10 balls with 3 sixes, and Tristan Stubbs contributed 13 runs off 6 balls, with a four and a six. England’s bowlers struggled. Luke Wood took two wickets for England. Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, and Sam Curran each took a wicket. When the weather cleared, England was set a target of 68 runs in 5 overs, but only managed 54 runs for 5 wickets. Jos Buttler scored 25 runs off 11 balls with a four and three sixes. Sam Curran remained not out with 10 runs. Phil Salt was out for a duck and captain Harry Brook was dismissed without scoring. Marco Jansen and Corbin Bosch of South Africa took two wickets each. Kagiso Rabada claimed one wicket. This was the second time South Africa beat England in Cardiff in a T20I. There were 14 sixes hit throughout the 12.5-over match.
