Dawid Malan Retirement: England’s star batsman David Malan has announced his retirement, bidding adieu to international cricket. David was out of the team for a long time. Malan last played for England in the 2023 ODI World Cup. He said goodbye to cricket after not being included in the Test series against Australia.

Let us tell you that David Malan played 22 Tests, 30 ODIs and 62 T20 International matches in a career spanning about 7 years (played for 6 years). He scored more than 1,000 runs in all three formats. Apart from Jos Buttler, Malan is the second batsman from England to score centuries in all three international formats. Apart from this, he was also a part of the England team that won the T20 World Cup in 2022.

    Malan regrets this thing

After retiring from cricket, England batsman David Malan said, “I have crossed all the limits of my expectations in white ball cricket, but I regret not doing well in Test cricket.” He said, “Test cricket has always been my best. I played well in between but I could not perform consistently there and could not show consistency, which is disappointing and because I believe that I am a much better player than this (my performance).

    Malan made many big records

His 48-ball century against New Zealand at Napier in 2019 was a standout performance and in September 2020 he reached the top of the ICC T20I batting rankings, a position he held for a long time. Malan also became the fastest player to score 1,000 runs in T20Is, achieving the feat in just 24 innings.

    David Malan’s cricket career

England batsman David Malan made his T20 debut for England against South Africa in 2017, where he played a memorable innings of 77 runs in 44 balls. He has 1074 runs in Tests, 1450 runs in ODIs and 1892 runs in T20 international cricket.

Malan has also played in the IPL. In 2021, Punjab Kings bought him for Rs 1.5 crore, but he got a chance to play in only one match, in which he scored 26 runs. Malan’s performance in domestic cricket has also been excellent. He has scored 13201 runs in 212 first class matches with the help of 30 centuries and 58 half-centuries, while in 178 List A matches, he has scored 6561 runs, including 16 centuries and 32 half-centuries.
