    England won the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Leeds, chasing down India’s target of 371 with five wickets in hand. Ben Duckett’s magnificent 149 was the highlight of the match, leading England to a comfortable win. Despite KL Rahul’s impressive performance of 137 runs, India was unable to restrict the English batsmen.

    In the first innings, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a good start, with Jaiswal getting a century and Shubman Gill also scoring a century. India’s total was 471, with Ben Stokes and Josh Tongue taking four wickets each. Duckett scored 62, and Ollie Pope scored a century. Jasprit Bumrah took five wickets, restricting England to 465.

    In the second innings, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal started the innings, but Jaiswal was dismissed early. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul scored centuries, taking India to 364, setting England a target of 371. Duckett and Zak Crawley formed a partnership of 188 runs. Duckett’s 149 and Crawley’s 65 sealed the victory. Joe Root also contributed with a half-century.
