Koderma’s Urwan became the venue for a critical seminar addressing the preservation of press credibility in the face of escalating misinformation. The District Public Relations Office spearheaded the event, with Deputy Commissioner Rituraj attending as the chief guest. He elaborated on the severe repercussions that fake news can precipitate for individuals, society, and the country. The Deputy Commissioner cautioned that reporting derived from social media alone carries inherent risks and can lead to widespread negative outcomes. He advocated for a methodical approach to reporting, encouraging journalists to be patient, vigilant, and to conduct thorough fact-verification without undue pressure. Rituraj commended the journalists in Koderma for their exemplary journalistic practices and their dedication to fulfilling their social responsibilities. Shashi Singh and Jeb Akhtar, visiting journalists from Ranchi, spoke about the professional and patriotic duties of journalists, stressing the importance of upholding these standards. They highlighted that the readership’s trust is paramount and that continuous self-improvement is essential for media professionals to sustain this trust.
