Ajay Bahl’s ‘The Lady Killer,’ featuring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, is now available on T-Series’ official YouTube channel, following a disappointing performance in theaters last year. The film made its digital debut with very little promotion. The release occurred Tuesday morning after a countdown on YouTube, with no marketing efforts before or during its release. The film reportedly struggled to find an OTT platform for streaming, despite its star power. The movie’s opening day box office earnings were only Rs 38,000, with just 293 tickets sold across India, establishing it as one of the biggest box office failures in recent Indian cinema. The film was reportedly released with incomplete content due to budget constraints, harsh weather in Uttarakhand, and no opportunities for reshoots. The team relied on editing and voiceovers to complete the production. The initial plan to release on Netflix was scrapped, leading to the film’s free availability on T-Series’ YouTube channel. Director Ajay Bahl admitted the film was incomplete, explaining that 30 pages of the screenplay were never shot, resulting in missing key plot elements. Bahl emphasized that the issues did not stem from the actors, expressing admiration for Arjun and Bhumi’s dedication to the project.
