LOS ANGELES: Filmmaker Matt Reeves-directed horror film “Cloverfield” is getting a sequel with up and coming British author Joe Barton on board to pen the script.
The JJ Abrams-produced monster film, which launched in 2008, was shot within the then-popular ‘discovered footage’ model to mirror the rising ubiquity of video cameras.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the sequel won’t follow the ‘discovered footage’ format.
The authentic adopted a gaggle of 20-something New Yorkers as they navigate the town throughout an assault by an enormous monster.
The movie turned an enormous success minting USD 172 million worldwide.
Abrams can be producing the brand new film together with Bad Robot head of movie, Hannah Minghella.
Barton just lately stepped in as showrunner for HBO Max’s Batman-themed Gotham City Police Department crime present after Terence Winter stop the venture over artistic variations.
