Ashish Kapoor, a television actor, is in custody following a rape accusation. The arrest took place in Pune, stemming from an incident that occurred at a Delhi house party last month. It was revealed the two individuals met via Instagram prior to the event. The woman initially accused multiple individuals but later changed her statement to implicate only Kapoor. The FIR, filed on August 11, was updated to reflect a single count of rape, replacing the original gang rape charge. Police investigations led them to trace Kapoor’s movements from Delhi to Goa and ultimately to Pune, where he was apprehended. CCTV footage and witness testimonies reportedly place Kapoor and the woman together in a washroom. The complainant has claimed the assault was recorded, though authorities have yet to recover any video evidence.
