Ivory Aquino to play first trans character in DC’s live-action movie ‘Batgirl’

WASHINGTON: Actor Ivory Aquino is all set to play the position of Alysia Yeoh, the primary trans character in DC’s live-action movie ‘Batgirl.’

As per Deadline, Aquino will star alongside beforehand introduced forged members together with Leslie Grace, J.Okay. Simmons, Brendan Fraser, Michael Keaton and Jacob Scipio.

The upcoming superhero movie can be directed by Will Smith’s ‘Bad Boys for Life’ helmers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah for HBO Max.

As per Deadline, ‘Batgirl’ relies on the DC comics created by author Gail Simone and artist Ardian Syaf.

While specifics with regard to the movie’s plot are being stored below wraps, it’ll centre on Gotham City police commissioner Jim Gordon’s (Simmons) daughter, Barbara (Grace). Aquino will play Barbara’s greatest buddy, bartender Alysia Yeoh–the first main transgender character ever to seem in a live-action movie adaptation of DC comics.

Fraser is portraying the villain Firefly, as beforehand introduced, with Keaton reprising his position as Batman from Tim Burton’s 1989 movie of the identical title and his 1992 follow-up Batman Returns.
