Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has premiered, marking its theatrical debut. The film is a prequel to the 2022 Kannada hit ‘Kantara,’ and has garnered attention from audiences. The movie is competing with a number of big releases. On its first day, the film collected Rs 60 crore. Although the film had a strong opening, the collection was less than the first-day earnings of ‘They Call Him OG’ which earned Rs 63.73 crore and ‘Coolie’ which collected Rs 77 crore. In the Hindi belt, the movie is in competition with ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’. Rishab Shetty plays Berme, supported by Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film’s visuals are crafted by cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap, and the music is by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. The original ‘Kantara’ (2022) was directed by Rishab Shetty and explored themes of tradition, nature, and conflict. ‘Kantara’ was a major box office success and Rishab Shetty won a National Film Award for his performance.
