Modern reimagining of ‘Wizard of Oz’ by Kenya Barris in works

A brand new adaptation of the well-known fantasy story, The Wizard of Oz, is getting made by Kenya Barris who’s writing and directing the movie for Warner Bros. According to an article by Deadline, the movie is produced by Khalabo Ink Society.

While the remainder of the forged and crew are but to be revealed, it’s reported that the movie will likely be a contemporary re-imagining of the story which was written by L Frank Baum and was revealed in 1900. Over the years, the guide was tailored to movie within the type of Judy Garland-starrer The Wizard of Oz (1939).

Interestingly, Jon M Chu of Crazy Rich Asians fame can be engaged on one other rendition of the Oz story Wicked Part 1 which is scheduled to launch in 2024.

That movie will likely be an adaptation of the musical by Stephen Schwartz and also will get a second half. Meanwhile, Barris, who is understood for his sitcom Black-ish, will likely be making his characteristic debut with Netflix’s You People, with Eddie Murphy.
