*They Call Him OG* presents a challenging experience for Pawan Kalyan’s fanbase. The film does not live up to the expectations for a star vehicle. The core issue is the chaotic and incoherent storyline that diminishes the impact. Sujith, the director, fails to create a compelling narrative, and the characters are portrayed in a negative light. The lack of musical interludes is an intentional deviation. Pawan Kalyan’s portrayal as a stoic, relentless figure is hampered by the poor script. He plays a character resembling a Japanese samurai seeking vengeance, going up against Emraan Hashmi’s villainous Omi. The anticipated confrontations between Kalyan and Hashmi are unsatisfying, with the fight sequences being poorly executed. The direction is weak, as the director prioritizes glorifying Kalyan, while the screenplay is unstructured, and some moments become unintentionally funny. The film has issues with its editing, and the story’s simplicity isn’t improved by the heavy-handed score and cinematography.
