Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic drama ‘Param Sundari’ has premiered, marking their first appearance together on screen. The movie, which focuses on the convergence of North and South Indian cultures, has already received favorable reviews, due to its moving narrative and the quality of its music. As romantic comedies see a resurgence in Hindi cinema, the film has captured the attention of audiences seeking a good rom-com story. Advance bookings for ‘Param Sundari’ have been successful, with over one lakh tickets sold on opening day through various online platforms. Good reviews and word-of-mouth could positively impact its collection over the weekend. According to industry analysts, ‘Param Sundari’ is expected to open in the range of Rs 7-9 crore in India. This opening is respectable for a romantic comedy, but could be less than what Maddock Films anticipates. In contrast, ‘Dhadak 2’ started with Rs 3.35 crore, ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ earned Rs 7.20 crore on its first day, while ‘Saiyaara’ had a debut of Rs 21 crore. The eventual box office performance of ‘Param Sundari’ will significantly depend on how well it is received by audiences during its first weekend. Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, ‘Param Sundari’ is about a cross-cultural romance between Param (Sidharth Malhotra) and Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor), taking place in Kerala. The cast also includes Renji Panicker, Siddhartha Shankar, Manjot Singh, Sanjay Kapoor and Inayat Verma.
