Paramount Players picks up US distribution rights to horror-thriller ‘Orphan: First Kill’

WASHINGTON: Hollywood studio Paramount Players has acquired the US distribution rights to ‘Orphan: First Kill’, the prequel to the 2009 movie ‘Orphan’.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the studio picked up the home rights to the horror-thriller from eOne and Dark Castle.
The film, now in post-production, is a prequel to Dark Castle’s ‘Orphan’, which was distributed by Warner Bros.
EOne and Dark Castle co-financed the prequel that was directed by William Brent Bell, who beforehand helmed ‘The Boy’ and ‘The Devil Inside’.
‘Orphan: First Kill’ revolves round Leena, a murderous sociopath who appears to be like like a toddler as a result of a medical situation. Following an escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Leena involves America by impersonating the lacking daughter of a rich Connecticut household. But Leena’s new life as Esther comes with an sudden wrinkle and pits her towards a mom who will defend her household at any price.
Isabelle Fuhrman is reprising her function from the unique film and now additionally serves as an affiliate producer on the brand new film. Julia Stiles stars because the mom with Rossif Sutherland, Matthew Finlan and Hiro Kanagawa rounding out the solid.
