Wing Commander Namansh Syal tragically passed away in a Tejas aircraft crash during the Dubai Air Show 2025, an event that showcased the prowess of the Indian Air Force. His sacrifice has been mourned by the nation, with numerous celebrities sharing their grief and respect.
Kamal Haasan, a respected actor and politician, took to his social media platform to express his profound sadness. He lauded Wing Commander Syal as “India’s brave son” and extended his deepest sympathies to the pilot’s family and friends, acknowledging the immense loss.
Actor Sonu Sood paid a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on the nation’s collective grief. He highlighted Wing Commander Syal’s dedication to his duty and his love for flying, asserting that his courage and ultimate sacrifice would remain etched in the hearts of the people. “Salute to a true hero,” Sood conveyed.
Suniel Shetty, when asked about the incident, called it a “very sad incident” and expressed his immense pride in the officers who serve the country. He mentioned that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the Tejas crash.
Condolences have also come from singer Adnan Sami and a host of sports personalities, including Yuvraj Singh, PV Sindhu, Ishant Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal. The mortal remains of Wing Commander Syal were flown back to India, and he was honored with a ceremonial guard of honour by the Emirati Defence Forces for his service and bravery.
