‘Sex and the City’ revival will deal with COVID-19 pandemic, says Sarah Jessica Parker

LOS ANGELES: Actor Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that coronavirus pandemic will “obviously be part of the storyline” of the upcoming “Sex and the City” revival.
The well-liked sequence ran on HBO from 1998 via 2004 and featured Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York.
HBO Max ordered the favored present’s revival, titled “And Just Like That…”, earlier this month with the lead stars returning.
“The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” the present’s description reads.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jessica Parker mentioned she is hopeful that the writers of the present will contact upon COVID-19 and its results on the lead characters’ friendship.

“(COVID-19 will) obviously be part of the storyline, because that’s the city (these characters) live in. And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all.”
The new 10-episode restricted sequence is predicated on the ebook, “Sex and the City”, by Candice Bushnell and the unique TV sequence created by Darren Star.
Jessica Parker, Nixon and Davis may even function govt producers, together with Michael Patrick King, the producer of the unique sequence and the “Sex and the City” movies.
The 55-year-old actor mentioned she and her co-stars are excited to see how the three characters have grown with time.
“I think that Cynthia and Kristin and I are all excited about the time that has passed. You know, who are they in this world now? Have they adapted? What part have they played? “Where have they fallen quick as girls, as pals, and the way are they discovering their approach? Did they transfer with momentum? Are they like some people who find themselves confused, threatened, nervous (by what’s occurring on the earth)? I’m so curious and excited to see how the writers think about these girls at the moment,” she mentioned.
“Sex and the City” ran for six seasons and 94 episodes between 1998-2004 and was adopted by two function movies in 2008 and 2010.
A 3rd film was additionally introduced however by no means progressed.
A prequel sequence to the present, “The Carrie Diaries”, was launched on The CW in 2013, with AnnaSophia Robb enjoying a younger Carrie Bradshaw, and ran for 2 seasons.
