In a major boost to Yash’s dark fantasy ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, actors Akshay Oberoi and Sudeev Nair have been roped in for pivotal roles as Tony and Karmadi. Their inclusions promise to amplify the movie’s edgy, action-packed universe, drawing fans deeper into its immersive world.
Tony, brought to life by Oberoi, is a throwback to mid-20th-century tough guys. Long mustache flowing, dressed in era-specific gear with an arrogant stance, he represents unbridled aggression masked by tranquility. The reveal poster teases a performance brimming with latent threat.
Karmadi, via Nair, is all earthiness and enigma. Flat cap perched low, straight mustache, fixed stare, and holstered pistol define a man of few words but immense presence—calm on the surface, explosive underneath.
Director Geetu Mohandas lauded Nair: ‘He was ideal for Karmadi—talented profoundly, expressive silently. His serene leadership on set inspired the crew. A stellar actor and even better human, he propelled our vision ahead.’
On Oberoi: ‘An absolute delight working with him. His probing questions and script immersion fortified the character. Relentlessly pursuing realism, his deliveries in tough scenes were masterful.’
Yash’s clean-shaven teaser has set social media ablaze. Backed by Venkat K. Narayanan and Yash’s banners, the film stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria. Filmed in Kannada-English duality with dubs in multiple tongues, ‘Toxic’ hits screens March 19, poised to captivate globally.
