The Congress party, led by Pawan Khera, has strongly criticized Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and the government’s ethanol policy, accusing them of corruption and causing vehicle damage. The criticism focuses on the alleged conflict of interest, with Khera claiming Gadkari’s sons are profiting from the policy that Gadkari himself is implementing.

Khera presented financial data to support his claims, noting significant revenue increases for Nikhil Gadkari’s company. He also highlighted that despite promises, the ethanol policy hasn’t lowered petrol prices and has resulted in engine damage. Furthermore, Khera stated that the ethanol policy has failed to provide benefits for farmers. Khera also criticized the environmental impact of ethanol production. He also brought up the issue of Russian crude oil and its impact on the industry, including claims of tax manipulation.
