    The failure of Bangladesh’s police force to recover 1500 dangerous weapons stolen from police stations during protests has raised concerns ahead of the upcoming elections. The weapons, which were looted in 2024, have reportedly fallen into the hands of criminals. The Yunus administration, which took over after the protests, established a special unit to recover the weapons. With elections planned for February 2026, and the election process starting in December 2025, the government is under pressure to address the issue. The government has announced a reward system to gather information about the weapons.
