In a bizarre twist of events, Ramesh Mishra from Bath village in Bhagalpur, Bihar, is embroiled in a legal battle to prove he is alive after his son and daughter-in-law declared him dead to facilitate a fraudulent land sale. Mishra, a former employee of the Jharkhand Transport Department, found himself entangled in the scheme when his son, Kundan Mishra, and daughter-in-law, Rupam Mishra, falsified documents to sell his land. The ruse unraveled when villagers started referring to Mishra as a ghost, prompting him to investigate the matter. He discovered that the land had already been sold, leading him to seek justice. He filed complaints with the local police and senior authorities, but they were dismissed. He then approached the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court, where he submitted an affidavit as evidence of his existence. The CJM has ordered the Bath police station to conduct a thorough investigation and submit a report, which will determine the next steps. The case has become a topic of intense discussion, highlighting the devastating impact of deception and greed within families.
