The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) launched the FASTag Annual Pass starting August 15, 2025. This pass is applicable at approximately 1,150 toll plazas across select national highways and national expressways (NE) nationwide. Online booking and activation were made available starting August 15, making it simple for people to get the pass from home. The initiative garnered a remarkable response immediately after its launch.

By 7 PM on the first day, approximately 1.4 lakh users had acquired and activated the Annual Pass, resulting in around 1.39 lakh transactions at toll plazas. Furthermore, approximately 20,000 to 25,000 users are using the Rajmargyatra app, and annual pass users are receiving SMS notifications for zero toll charge deductions.

To assist FASTag Annual Pass users, NHAI officials and nodal officers are present at all toll plazas. To support users, the 1033 National Highway Helpline has been augmented with the addition of over 100 officers.

The FASTag Annual Pass is priced at Rs 3,000. This pass is valid for one year or up to a maximum of 200 trips, whichever happens first. It is easily available for purchase and activation through the NHAI’s official website and the Rajmargyatra mobile app.

This service is exclusive to private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. It is not applicable to commercial vehicles. With an entry rate of nearly 98 percent and over 8 crore users, FASTag has transformed the electronic toll collection system in the nation.
