In a vibrant fusion of fitness and franchise, Delhi’s streets came alive with the 58th ‘Sunday on Cycle,’ welcoming national athletes, debutant voters, and BSF troops. Organized on National Voters’ Day—just before Republic Day—the event amplified Fit India’s mission to invigorate the nation.

Nadeem Dar, Fit India Director, beamed with pride. ‘Nationwide editions are underway, uniquely featuring first-time voters this time,’ he explained. Beyond cycling, Zumba and yoga sessions make it a comprehensive wellness drive, with 25 lakh cumulative participants. Expansion remains the focus for deeper impact.

Insights from stars lit up the narrative. Kabaddi star Rohit Kumar: ‘Keep these coming for a healthy India.’ Ritu Shyoren championed women’s involvement: ‘Family constraints sideline many girls; cycling changes that. Normalize Sunday cycles for fitness.’ A seasoned player added depth: ‘Fit India unites all—sports pros and amateurs. View your body as machinery needing daily motion, not sporadic events.’

Parallel action in Amritsar saw Raksha Khadse at the helm. IPS officer Mayank Srivastava traced roots to PM Modi’s 2019 initiative: ‘Aadha ghanta roz’ to counter sedentary lifestyles. Minister Mandaviya’s one-sport-a-day ethos fuels momentum. With BSF’s Atul Fuljale, NIS teams, and voter youth, Amritsar mirrored Delhi’s spirit. Nationwide at 30-35 venues—including Mandaviya’s Karaikal—these rides herald a fitter populace celebrating democracy and discipline.
