    Islamabad. The troubles of Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the only captain to win the Cricket World Cup, do not seem to be decreasing. Just five days before the general elections to be held on February 8 in Pakistan, the Pakistan Court has termed his marriage with Bushra Bibi as un-Islamic and has sentenced both of them to seven years of imprisonment.     A Pakistani court said in its decision that Imran Khan had married Bushra Bibi during Iddat, which is un-Islamic. Along with this, Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been sentenced to 7 years in jail. Not only this, a fine of Rs 50 lakh each has been imposed on Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for having a non-Islamic marriage. Before this, in two other cases – Toshakhana and Cypher – Imran Khan had been sentenced to a total of 24 years in jail. The court has also sentenced Bushra Bibi to jail in the Toshakhana case.

    Waiting for 130 days is called Iddat

    Iddat is a waiting period of 130 days. This is the time of gap between two marriages. Only after this a Muslim woman is able to marry again. According to the court, Imran violated it during his marriage with Bushra. Earlier, Bushra’s ex-husband had accused Imran Khan and Bushra of illicit relations before marriage. Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khwar Maneka alleged that Imran Khan demolished his house and his children have gone into depression. Imran Khan has rejected all the allegations.
