    Nyamuddin Ali, Anuppur. The court has sentenced 4 accused of making fake notes in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, to 10 years of imprisonment. The court of First Additional Sessions Judge Pankaj Jaiswal has sentenced the accused of Jaithari Police Station to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 4000 each for being found guilty of the crime. The accused had not printed Gandhi’s photo on the notes, due to which they were caught.

    Accused Mathura Prajapati, Paraslal Yadav, Rooplal Puri, Bhujbal Maravi and Anilsharan Doshwa have been sentenced. Another accused Baldev Singh was absent and a permanent arrest warrant was issued against him and the decision regarding the accused was kept in a sealed envelope. If this accused is arrested, the court will hear about the punishment and issue an order in future.

    The accused was caught like this

    In November 2017, Mathura Prajapati of Chhatpatar came to Anshu Prajapati’s grocery shop. He gave a 500 note and bought goods worth 20 rupees. After which the shopkeeper returned him 480 rupees. In the evening, the shopkeeper saw that the paper of the 500 note was thick and Gandhiji’s photo was not visible on the right side. On comparing it with the real note, the note turned out to be fake, a complaint of which was lodged in Jaithari police station. Taking action in this case, the police arrested the accused and interrogated him. During this, another fake 500 note was seized from his possession.

    Mathura Prajapati told that accused Paras Lal had given these notes to him to circulate. The police arrested Paras Lal and after interrogating him, 34 fake notes of Rs 500 each were seized from his possession. Paras Lal told that the fake notes were given to him by accused Roop Lal Panika. During interrogation, the accused accepted his crime. After which 44 fake notes were seized from here. 140 fake notes were found from a person named Bhujbal. Also, 197 fake 500 rupee notes were seized from Anil Sharan’s possession.

    These items including printer, computer were confiscated

    The police seized many items from the accused including printer, computer etc. which were used in printing the notes. The fake notes seized from the accused were sent to State Bank and Pune Forensic Department for investigation. The court, after proving all the notes to be fake, said in its verdict that keeping in mind the impact of this type of crime on the country’s economy, all of them were sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 4000 each.

    One accused in the case absconded

    When the accused Baldev Singh was absent, the proceedings were separated from the case, his bail bond was confiscated and a permanent arrest warrant was issued. And the decision regarding the accused was kept in a sealed envelope.
