After being omitted from the Asia Cup 2025 squad, Shreyas Iyer will play in the Duleep Trophy, commencing on August 28. He will represent the West Zone team led by Shardul Thakur. Iyer aims to make a strong case for his return to the national team. Following his performance in the Champions Trophy and IPL 2025, where he led Punjab Kings to the final, Iyer’s exclusion from the T20I team came as a surprise. Now, Iyer is looking towards the upcoming Test series against the West Indies in October. He might get an opportunity in the Test series, with the first match in Ahmedabad on October 2. Iyer has a solid record in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, showcasing his all-round capabilities.
