Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leaving no stone unturned in the battle against tuberculosis. Come February, Uttar Pradesh will witness a high-octane 100-day special intensive drive to hunt down TB patients, a cornerstone of the state’s public health strategy.

Spanning urban high-rises to rural hamlets, the campaign will leverage a multi-pronged approach: active case finding, contact tracing of known patients, and screening high-risk groups like diabetics and HIV-positive individuals.

Backed by the Union Health Ministry, the initiative draws from global best practices. Portable ultrasound devices and AI-driven symptom checkers will accelerate diagnostics, reducing turnaround time from days to hours.

‘TB is preventable and curable, yet it lurks in shadows,’ noted Principal Secretary Health. The state plans to test over 5 crore people, aiming for 50,000 new detections.

Integration with Ayushman Bharat ensures seamless treatment. Daily drug regimens, monitored via apps, will curb drug resistance—a growing menace.

Previous drives in 2023 detected 2 lakh cases; this edition scales up with tech and training. Incentives like cash rewards for informants encourage public involvement.

As India eyes TB-free status, UP’s campaign sets a benchmark. Schools will host quizzes, factories mandatory checks—turning awareness into action.

The countdown to February begins. UP residents, your cooperation is vital. Spot the signs, seek help early, and help build a TB-mukt Uttar Pradesh.
