A SpiceJet passenger endured an extraordinary flight experience on a Mumbai to Bengaluru route, spending the entire journey locked inside the aircraft lavatory. The airline has offered an apology and is believed to have provided a refund. The unusual event has caused quite a stir.
The passenger was eventually freed following the plane’s arrival in Bengaluru. Ground staff and engineers were able to open the jammed toilet door.
The incident happened on a Monday night flight, delayed by two hours, departing Mumbai at 2:10 AM. Shortly after takeoff, a passenger seated in 14D entered the restroom. The door lock failed, trapping the passenger inside.
Unable to resolve the situation, the crew communicated with the passenger through a handwritten note. The note advised the passenger to remain on the toilet seat until landing in Bengaluru.
The handwritten note and the entire scenario amused many online. The flight touched down in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM. The airline issued an apology for the event.
