The strategic alliance between Bajaj and Triumph has produced a new 400 cc motorcycle range, including the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. These motorcycles are designed to provide an entry point into Triumph’s world.

Due to recent GST reforms, these motorcycles now face higher prices. In response, Bajaj has stated plans to reconfigure its portfolio with more models below 350cc to avoid the higher tax rates.

It is possible that Bajaj might launch a new 350cc bike lineup. The new portfolio could launch within the year, and all the current 400cc bikes could be adapted. The article offers a detailed look at the anticipated changes for the new 350cc bikes.

    New Bajaj Triumph 350cc Bikes

Bajaj has KTM and Triumph under its umbrella, and Triumph is expected to be the most affected by the 40% GST slab. This is due to the fact that Bajaj and KTM also have smaller displacement bikes. This may be a catalyst for Bajaj and Triumph to devise a new 350cc portfolio and then replace the 400cc with this new engine in India.

Triumph may continue manufacturing the high-displacement models for exports while the 350cc portfolio is retained for India, as per media reports.

The Bajaj Triumph 350cc engine is likely to be derived from the 399cc block that powers the Speed 400 and other models. A shorter stroke could be used to reduce the total displacement to approximately 350cc. Bajaj is known for modifying mechanical components to develop different versions, as shown with the Speed T4.
