Gandhi Tours Flood-Ravaged Punjab, Offers Prayers and Support

Rahul Gandhi conducted a tour of flood-affected regions in Punjab, meeting with impacted communities and assessing the damage. His visit included stops in Amritsar and the village of Ghonewal in Ajnala, where he observed the impact of the floods. He continued his tour by traveling to a flood-affected village in Gurdaspur. He also visited Gurdwara Sri Samadh Baba Buddha Ji Sahib to offer prayers for the welfare of Punjab. The Congress party has appealed for aid to support the flood victims, emphasizing the widespread destruction and hardship faced by the population. The floods have resulted in significant casualties and the destruction of crops. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas and announced financial assistance for the state. Prior to this, several central ministers had also visited the flood-affected regions to assess the situation.
