Former Indian cricket coach Gary Kirsten has shared his perspective on his most memorable moments during his time with the team. Despite leading India to the 2011 World Cup title, Kirsten revealed that a different event stood out to him. The partnership of VVS Laxman and Ishant Sharma in the Mohali Test of 2010 during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series was the highlight. Kirsten focused on the importance of leadership, particularly in encouraging Ishant Sharma’s batting during the match. He also discussed his admiration for Gautam Gambhir’s coaching. The Mohali Test in the 2010–11 Border-Gavaskar Trophy saw India clinch a dramatic victory over Australia by one wicket. Laxman and Ishant’s partnership, amidst Laxman’s injury, was a critical factor in India’s win, showcasing a remarkable comeback in the process.
