    The ancient martial art of Gatka has been officially included in the Pythian Cultural Games, with international competitions planned for Moscow next year. Bijender Goel, Chairman of the Pythian Council of India and Founder of the Pythian Games, made the announcement at the 12th National Gatka Championship in New Delhi. He stated his commitment to supporting the World Gatka Federation, Asian Gatka Federation, and the National Gatka Association of India (NGAI) in their efforts to expand Gatka’s global reach.

    Shantanu Agrahari, president of the Pythian Council, provided insights into the Pythian Games. Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh emphasized the growing popularity of Gatka as a sport and its importance for self-defense, offering encouragement to aspiring participants. Dr. Tejinderpal Singh Nalwa, President of the Asian Gatka Federation, along with Harjeet Singh Grewal, President of the NGAI, and Sukhchain Singh Kalsani, Acting President, celebrated the inclusion of Gatka in the Pythian Games, recognizing it as a major achievement. The event saw the presence of various notable personalities.
