Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has publicly accused Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir of being a “radicalized Islamist” who “yearns for a full-scale war with India.” In a recent media appearance, she elaborated that Munir’s strong adherence to Islamic conservatism fuels his desire for conflict with nations not following Islam.

Khan presented her brother, Imran Khan, as a “pure liberal” whose foreign policy consistently aimed at improving relations with India and its political establishment. She suggested that a return of Imran Khan to power would signal a shift towards peace, whereas the influence of General Munir would precipitate war and widespread regional instability.

Imran Khan, currently incarcerated, has also taken aim at General Munir, calling him a “mentally unstable tyrant.” He alleged that the army chief orchestrated his and his wife’s imprisonment using fabricated charges and subjected them to “severe mental torture.” Khan described his jail conditions as comparable to death row, claiming he has been treated inhumanely. He further accused Munir of enacting destructive policies that have increased terrorism in Pakistan for his own benefit.
