Naiduniya Representative: Preparations are being made to open the Geo Science Museum being built by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) in Victoria Market located at Maharaj Bada for tourists soon. The construction of the first gallery of this museum has been completed a year ago and now the construction work of the second gallery has also reached its final stage. It will be completed by the coming month of September. After this, it will be inaugurated and opened for tourists. In this Geo Science Museum, tourists will be able to know in detail about everything from earthquakes to geological activities.
This museum is being prepared by GSI at a cost of Rs 35 crore. This is the country’s first Geo Science Museum. There are two galleries in this museum. The first gallery based on the theme of Earth’s evolution has been completed. Seven enclaves have been made in the first gallery of the museum. Now the work of the second gallery is going on, which will be completed by September. In this museum, information from the origin of the Earth to volcanoes, earthquakes and dinosaurs has been made available digitally.
Tourists can not only see it but can also feel it. A platform has been prepared here, standing on which one can experience the tremors of the earthquake. Apart from this, the volcano has been depicted through digital screen. Apart from this, the Geological Museum of India maintains three galleries of Indian Museum Kolkata. There are geology museums in the six regional offices and 28 state unit offices of the survey as well, but this full-fledged museum is being built in Gwalior for the first time. The name of its second gallery is Development of Life. It depicts how life flourished on Earth after its origin.
