Giridih’s district administration held a crucial meeting to outline strategies for the welfare of its transgender residents, emphasizing education and access to government schemes. Officials were urged to actively connect the transgender community with various public programs, and a committee will be established to streamline these efforts. A significant step will be the social and economic profiling of transgender individuals across the district, detailing their educational backgrounds, livelihoods, health status, and living standards. The administration is dedicated to providing official identification, announcing that a campaign to issue transgender identity cards will commence shortly. This process will prioritize the privacy and confidentiality of all participants. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to ensure transgender individuals can secure essential documents such as Voter IDs, Aadhaar Cards, ABHA health cards, and Ration Cards.
