In Goa, a court has ordered AAP MP Sanjay Singh to cease making any statements against Sulakshana Sawant, the wife of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. This decision comes amidst a defamation lawsuit filed by Sawant, a BJP member, who is seeking ₹100 crore in damages. The lawsuit follows Singh’s accusations of corruption.

The interim order from Ad-Hoc Civil Judge (Senior Division) Anuradha Andrade of Bicholim mandates that Sanjay Singh, along with his associates, supporters, and any other parties, are prohibited from making statements that could damage Sulakshana Sawant’s image. The court has ruled that this restriction will remain in effect until the case is fully decided.

Sulakshana Sawant’s legal action alleges that Sanjay Singh made false and unsubstantiated claims with the intention of damaging her and her family’s reputation. Singh had stated during a press conference in Delhi on December 4th that jobs were being sold in Goa, implicating the Chief Minister’s wife, state ministers, and their close contacts.

Surel Tilve, Sanjay Singh’s legal counsel, mentioned that an affidavit was filed in court, confirming Singh’s commitment to refrain from making further comments until the case is resolved. The legal team will determine whether to appeal the order after receiving and reviewing a copy of it.
